Tafsir of verse (1) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ سورَةٌ أَنزَلنٰها وَفَرَضنٰها وَأَنزَلنا فيها ءايٰتٍ بَيِّنٰتٍ لَعَلَّكُم تَذَكَّرونَ ﴾
[This is] a Surah which We have sent down and made [that within it] obligatory and revealed therein verses of clear evidence that you might remember.
Tafsir of verse (2) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ الزّانِيَةُ وَالزّانى فَاجلِدوا كُلَّ وٰحِدٍ مِنهُما مِا۟ئَةَ جَلدَةٍ ۖ وَلا تَأخُذكُم بِهِما رَأفَةٌ فى دينِ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُم تُؤمِنونَ بِاللَّهِ وَاليَومِ الءاخِرِ ۖ وَليَشهَد عَذابَهُما طائِفَةٌ مِنَ المُؤمِنينَ ﴾
The [unmarried] woman or [unmarried] man found guilty of sexual intercourse – lash each one of them with a hundred lashes, and do not be taken by pity for them in the religion [i.e., law] of Allah, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let
Tafsir of verse (3) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ الزّانى لا يَنكِحُ إِلّا زانِيَةً أَو مُشرِكَةً وَالزّانِيَةُ لا يَنكِحُها إِلّا زانٍ أَو مُشرِكٌ ۚ وَحُرِّمَ ذٰلِكَ عَلَى المُؤمِنينَ ﴾
The fornicator does not marry except a [female] fornicator or polytheist, and none marries her except a fornicator or a polytheist, and that [i.e., marriage to such persons] has been made unlawful to the believers.
Tafsir of verse (4) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ وَالَّذينَ يَرمونَ المُحصَنٰتِ ثُمَّ لَم يَأتوا بِأَربَعَةِ شُهَداءَ فَاجلِدوهُم ثَمٰنينَ جَلدَةً وَلا تَقبَلوا لَهُم شَهٰدَةً أَبَدًا ۚ وَأُولٰئِكَ هُمُ الفٰسِقونَ ﴾
And those who accuse chaste women and then do not produce four witnesses – lash them with eighty lashes and do not accept from them testimony ever after. And those are the defiantly disobedient.
Tafsir of verse (5) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ إِلَّا الَّذينَ تابوا مِن بَعدِ ذٰلِكَ وَأَصلَحوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفورٌ رَحيمٌ ﴾
Except for those who repent thereafter and reform, for indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Tafsir of verse (6) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ وَالَّذينَ يَرمونَ أَزوٰجَهُم وَلَم يَكُن لَهُم شُهَداءُ إِلّا أَنفُسُهُم فَشَهٰدَةُ أَحَدِهِم أَربَعُ شَهٰدٰتٍ بِاللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الصّٰدِقينَ ﴾
And those who accuse their wives [of adultery] and have no witnesses except themselves – then the witness of one of them [shall be] four testimonies [swearing] by Allah that indeed, he is of the truthful.
Tafsir of verse (7) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ وَالخٰمِسَةُ أَنَّ لَعنَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيهِ إِن كانَ مِنَ الكٰذِبينَ ﴾
And the fifth [oath will be] that the curse of Allah be upon him if he should be of the liars.
Tafsir of verse (8) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ وَيَدرَؤُا۟ عَنهَا العَذابَ أَن تَشهَدَ أَربَعَ شَهٰدٰتٍ بِاللَّهِ ۙ إِنَّهُ لَمِنَ الكٰذِبينَ ﴾
But it will prevent punishment from her if she gives four testimonies [swearing] by Allah that indeed, he is of the liars.
Tafsir of verse (9) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ وَالخٰمِسَةَ أَنَّ غَضَبَ اللَّهِ عَلَيها إِن كانَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقينَ ﴾
And the fifth [oath will be] that the wrath of Allah be upon her if he was of the truthful.
Tafsir of verse (10) from Surah An-Nur
﴿ وَلَولا فَضلُ اللَّهِ عَلَيكُم وَرَحمَتُهُ وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ تَوّابٌ حَكيمٌ ﴾
And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy... and because Allah is Accepting of Repentance and Wise.
